Founded in 2006, Wild Spirit Allstars (WSA) is Sheffield’s first All-Star cheerleading programme. We are a competitive all-girl programme, welcoming athletes from age 3 upwards.
Our roots in Sheffield cheerleading began before WSA was established, when we proudly represented Sheffield Wednesday Football Club as their official cheerleading squad. In 2006, Wild Spirit Allstars was formed, and we have been introducing athletes to competitive cheerleading and developing talent in Sheffield ever since.
We offer both competitive and recreational cheerleading, with training focused on stunting, tumbling and dance. Our teams train every Sunday, with a range of teams and levels available to suit different ages, abilities and experience.
At WSA, we believe cheerleading is about much more than what happens on the competition floor. Our aim is to create a positive, supportive and encouraging environment where athletes can build confidence, develop strong friendships, learn the value of teamwork and continually challenge themselves to progress.
We welcome athletes of all abilities and experience levels, from complete beginners taking their first steps into cheerleading to experienced athletes looking to develop more advanced skills. Our team placements are carefully considered by our coaching team to ensure athletes are placed where they can develop, contribute and thrive.
Throughout the season, our competitive teams represent WSA at competitions across the UK, giving athletes the opportunity to showcase their hard work and experience everything that comes with being part of a competitive team.
Our season runs from September to July, with annual team placement try-outs held each August. We also welcome new athletes throughout the season where suitable spaces are available, so you don’t necessarily need to wait until our next try-out date to join us.
WSA trains at Skyline Gymnastics, conveniently located just off Sheffield Parkway at Unit 8B, Sheffield Wholesale Markets, Parkway Drive, Sheffield, S9 4WW.
