I understand that competitive cheerleading is a team sport and that every athlete’s commitment affects the whole team. Cheerleading should not be withdrawn as a consequence for behaviour at home or at school. Homework, revision or other academic commitments should be planned around scheduled training and are not considered acceptable reasons for absence.
I understand that training times may be changed and additional training sessions may be scheduled at any point during the season where required.
I understand that competition dates, venues, schedules and other arrangements may occasionally be changed by event organisers and that these changes are outside of WSA’s control.
I understand that I must remain contactable by phone while my athlete is attending training, events or competitions.
I understand that I must inform the coaching team of any injury, illness, medical condition or change in circumstances that may affect my athlete’s ability to participate safely in training, events or competitions.
I understand that it is my responsibility to stay informed about my athlete’s team. WhatsApp groups and emails will be used to communicate important information, updates and last-minute changes, particularly on competition days.
I consent to photographs and videos of my athlete being taken during training sessions, events and competitions. I understand that these may be used by WSA for promotional purposes, including on WSA’s website and official social media channels.
I understand that athletes must attend competitions in the correct WSA uniform, footwear, bow and any other required items, and must follow the appearance requirements set by the coaching team.
I understand that athletes and parents/guardians are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship and conduct whenever representing WSA, both in person and online. Parents/guardians are expected to be positive ambassadors for the programme at all times, including at training, events, competitions and on social media.
I understand that abusive, aggressive, disrespectful or inappropriate behaviour towards WSA coaches, athletes, parents, event staff, officials or members of other programmes will not be tolerated, either in person or online.
I understand that team information, choreography, routines and other content intended to remain within WSA should not be shared publicly or with other programmes without permission from the coaching team.
I understand that all decisions made by the WSA coaching team regarding athletes, teams, routines and placements are final.
I understand that crossover or additional team placements are not guaranteed. Athletes may be moved between teams where necessary, including where they are unable to consistently perform the skills required for their team or where their attitude, commitment or conduct does not meet the expectations of the coaching team.
I understand that all fees paid to WSA are non-refundable. Fees are calculated at the beginning of the season based on the teams, athletes and competition entries registered for that season.
I understand that annual training fees are divided equally across 12 monthly payments from September to August. Monthly subs therefore remain payable in full regardless of the number of training sessions taking place within an individual month.
I understand that where WSA has already incurred or committed to costs on behalf of my athlete, these costs remain payable even if my athlete subsequently leaves the programme.
I understand that if my athlete chooses to withdraw from WSA after the competition registration process has begun, any outstanding competition fees relating to entries already committed to on their behalf will become payable immediately and in full.
